What I Thought: I laughed in the beginning and then I was annoyed of how much bad words he had to put in like d--m. but besides that it was a good book.

Going Rogue by Sarah palin

Summery: Sarah palin recounts of her life, of how she was govener of alaska, and her family and faith. and how she  made the decisions while in office. 
Romance: Sarah and Todd like each other, they get married.

Violence: Track gets a broken arm, a person gets electified on the power line

What I Thought: I liked it a lot and especially the pictures. I like the charatar Piper palin!

Book reveiew, A walkthru the book of Ruth

A walkthru the book of Ruth, A Bible study about loyalty and love is the theme of the book. The book has sessions for small groups and discussion questions at the end of each session. There are also study notes placed in the book.
I was disappointed with the book, expecting it to go more into the depth of it, of the setting, explaining the traditions that they did.

where were you born?

Three Hills, Alberta, Canada, July 26, 1433 or thereabouts.

where did you go to collage?

I graduated from grade eight when I was 23. Actually, I went to Prairie Bible College and studied journalism and short-story writing for a time.

whats your favorite family tradition?

Annual 4-week visit to Hawaii! I wish. Probably keeping the wonderful traditions of Christmas together. Norwegian Lefsa and Christmas porridge and trying to remember that it’s Jesus’s birthday, not ours.

how many sisters and brothers did you have?

I am the youngest of five children. And the best looking without a doubt. (3 brothers, one lucky sister)

whats your favorite book?

My favorite book is the Bible. This week I read three. John Grisham’s latest, Philip Yancey’s What Good Is God?, and a biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

whats your favorite kind of music?

I’m a ‘70s and ‘80s music fan. And some of my children’s music I like. Chris Rice is perhaps my current favorite.

Review of Strawberry girl

Strawberry girl is one of those books homeschoolers have, its in those catalogs and stuff so I decided to get it
I finished it off in a day!



Summery: Birdie Boyer and her family wants to grow strawberrys, potatoes and peanuts, but their neighborer doesn't like the Boyers, so he causes trouble What will the Boyers do?

Language:I can't remember

Violence: some chickens get killed and a mule gets piosoned, theirs a bar fight and school fight 

Time Period: in florida, 1900's sometime

What I Thought: it was a easy read, and wasn't the kind of book I loved, it was a good book though

Rachael: where were you born?

Shelley: I was born in London Ontario into a family with 6 kids -- fun!

Rachael: where did you go to school? 

Shelley:I went to public school and had tons of friends.

Rachael: What is your favorite tradition?

Shelley: A favourite family tradition is our annual Christmas Eve party. This year there were 70 people!

Rachael: Whats your favorite book?

Shelley: My favourite book is a hard question -- I have so many. Maybe Fifth Business by Robertson Davies.

Rachael: what is your favorite music?

Shelley: I love all kinds of music, but Robbie Robertson's 'Blue Train' might be at the top.

Rachael: Do you have experience with horses? it seems so in the book?

Shelley: Yes, I raise and train horses. I don't think I could write about horses without a lot of experience.

The Right Man

The Right Man, written by David Frum, is about an inside look in the white house when George. W. Bush was in. David Frum was a speech writer for the president, he also traveled around with him. He gives the reader anecdotes of the times working there, like what happened on september 11 2001. He touches on topics like the president's religion and how he was liked by his staff. David goes on to say he came into the white house at the wrong time but he was the right man.

I don't usally like politics but I liked this book! The Part where it caught me the most was when 9/11 happened and the security was drastically tightened up and anthrax was a big scare at that time.

Racheal: where were you born?

Shannon:  California! I’m a native California and can’t imagine living anywhere else.

Racheal: did you home school or go to school?

Shannon:  I went to public school from kindergarten through high school. In college, I chose to attend Biola University—a private Christian college. I loved public school growing up and never wanted to go anywhere else. I was able to lead some friends to the Lord along the way and grow in my faith as a result. I chose Biola because I wanted to minor in biblical studies.  

Racheal: whats your favorite family memoir when you where growing up? like what tradition?

Shannon:  As a kid, Friday night was always family night. We’d go out to dinner, play a game or watch a movie together. That was always really fun. A tradition my husband and I have is collecting a nativity set from all of our international travels. Then at Christmas we can fill our home with reminders that Jesus truly is Lord of every tongue, tribe and nation.

Racheal: what is your favorite book? 

Shannon: The Bible. It’s honestly the only book that remains constantly in my number one position. I try to read 50-60 books per year, so my other favorites are always changing based on what I’m currently reading.

Racheal: what is your favorite music?

Shannon:  I like a mix of different music. Chris Tomlin is probably my favorite contemporary Christian artist, and Brad Paisley is my favorite Country artist.
