Martita's mother and father died of sickness. The doctor who treated her parents takes her to live with them.
The family is of boys and one girl. they love to laugh and tease. Martita feels its quite hard to be teased. She learns how to make bread and weave. When she first comes to the farm, she writes to her Rich aunt in Richmond and asks her if she can stay with the aunt. The letter takes 6 weeks and by that time, Martita wants to stay with the family on the farm.  Its a quaint cute story. The  farm family is Quakers.

I liked the story, it was quaint and cute. I just wish Martita would've gone with her rich uncle and aunt in Richmond, it sounded much better and I would of loved reading about the mansions and stuff. oh well. That was my opionion...

Little by little by Jean Little.

genre: a bio

Jean Little was born nearly blind. she was taunted by people who called her cross eyed. The Littles were Canadian missionarys grew up in Tiawan ( I think- or China) and moved to Canada. Jean Little imagined a lot of things, she had a good imagination.  She went on to write many children books. ( including some dear Canada series)

An ocean Apart review

An ocean apart by Gillian Chan.

Gillian Chan makes it like your walking in china town Vancouver. You can almost taste the food and feel what they are feeling. This Diary is very well written.

Mei-ling's mother and brother are still in china and she wishes she could see them again.

Whispers of War the diary of Susanna Merritt by Kit Pearson.

I don't usally like reading diarys of girls but when I found the dear Canada series, I loved them!

Kit Pearson brings to life the 1812 life through her book. It makes you under stand the war of 1812 more then history books and what the people thought midst of the war and before it and what their life was like. I really liked the Susanna;s older brother.

Sophie Scholl and the white rose review

I had to interlibrary loan this book but it was worth the wait. I had heard of Sophie and Hans Scholl in the book that Toby mac wrote: City on our knees.

Sophie and Hans scholl were living in Germany in world war 2, when Hitlers youth were everywhere. Hans and Sophie created what was called: The white rose, they rebelled against Hitler, and they distributed papers that what Hitler was doing wrong. But one time, the white rose were found out and were killed by the gullition, the cool thing is, they where ready to die because they where Christians.

its a cool story! I totally suggest it!

John Adams

I had to read it for school. so I got it from the local library and I started reading it. wow.

Its the full history of John Adams, of what he did, what he said, what other  people said of him, what he wrote to his wife in the letters, what he felt, what he.. you name it!

it was soo boring!
I don't suggest this book ( Thats my opionion I found it really boring)
