Grinding it out Review

Ray Kroc is the owner of mc.donalds. and I was tickled pink to hear he wrote a book about it.
so I read it. I had to interlibrary loan it.

When Ray Kroc saw mc.donalds, he was thrilled by it, and in his mind he saw mc.donalds dotting the country. so he talked to the mc.donalds brothers and he bought the contract. from then on, he made new things to mc.donalds, like apple pies, shakes and fish filets.

I really liked it, ecspecally the pictures of him and the classic mc.donalds.

I am a soldier too review

This book made me feel patrotic, ( being half American) and I was awed  at this story. I got it from the library, seeing the title it peaked my interest.

Jessica lynch wanted to serve her country, so she joined the army. She also got a very good friend, Lori and they shared fun times with each other. but then, in Iraq  she was taken as a POW ( prisoner of war), broken bones, she was terrified. at home her family was distraught. the town worked together to comfort the family and what ever religion they had, they prayed. Jessica lynch later was rescued by an American soldier and everyone thought of her as a hero. she said," I couldn't understand it, everyone thought I was a hero, but I  am a survivor, when I think about it, it makes me scared," or something like that.  I loved the part where the soldier came to rescue Jessica.

Bud not buddy review

Bud not buddy, by Christopher P. Curtis.

it was dusty in our bookshelve so I read it.

Bud is a orphen living in Flint Michigen in a home. His mother is dead. His favorite item is the old suitcase with a few of his memoirs. He wants to see his father again, he has a haunch that he knows who he is, he's in the Herman calloway band. so he travels on.

its soo hilarious! I was laughing.

my eye cought the cover, I was real interested in it so I got it from the local library 


its about-- you guessed it! crime in hollywood.and other places. I wasn't impressed by it. Though I did like one story in it the others were dumb or just bad.

Pegeen and the pilgrim review

Pegeen and the pilgrim by Lyn Cook

I found this book at a dollar store and I bought it, thinking it was going to be a good book.

Pegeen and her Mom are pretty poor, their father has deceased earlier. They have a boarding home where they keep boarders. Its busy; cooking, cleaning and shopping. When Pegeen hears a sheakspeare play is going to come to Stratford, she is delighted. And, a British man comes, Mr. B. he also stays with them and he likes Shakespeare. If only; Pegeen thinks, if she could be an actor. but their poor.

I liked the book a lot! especially when Mr. B comes to visit, though its a bit unrealistic that he only carries one suitcase for all his belongings!

The faith of Ronald Reagan

by Mary Beth Brown, a history of Ronald Reagan and his faith and the times when he was at near death experiences of when he was almost killed by a train and an assassination attempt on him. Mary Beth Brown backs up and tells of the faith of Ronald's Mother and then him. She follows his life and his faith. I never knew Ronald Reagan the 40^th US president had such deep faith. It was an eye opener and a refreshing read. Throughout the book there is pictures of Ronald Reagan in certain advents and of his family And there are quotes of him and Bible verses. Personally I didn't like how Mary Beth Brown kept on referring to other books about him and what they said about a certain advent. I liked the ending a lot.

Jeb America's next bush review

you know George W. Bush has a brother? he does, his name is John Ellis Bush, they call him Jeb.

well, I was surprised to see they had a book about Jeb so I got it. little did I know it was an anti bush book.

S.V. Date hates the Bushes, ( Thats what I made out when I read it)

he teared apart Jeb at the seams. everything to personality to religion. and he of course compared him to his Brother George.  I was sorta fed up with reading the book but I finished it any way. I like the Bush family. I think S.V. Date was jealous of the success or just hated him. and S.V. Date thinks Jeb will run for president, but Jeb himself said he wasn't. 

Jeb was the govener of Florida.

I liked the pictures.

Book review: Branded outlaw

Branded outlaw; by L. Ron Hubbard.

I found it in a bookstore for 2 dollars so I got it. and I read it in a few sittings.

Branded outlaw is your classic western pulp fiction from the 1930's, the cowboys, smoking guns, sherrifs, its quite funny, and a bit cheesy.  I thought it was great.

I just don't want to give the whole book away so I won't say any more.

my son yo yo ma review

my son Yo yo ma by Marina Ma.

I like yo yo ma's music! a lot, I hear it on a radio station and its so touching. And when I heard Condi Rice played Panio with him I just had to find a bio about him! so I interlibrary loaned it and waited.

The book is about yo yo ma growing up in Paris France and having the the passion for playing the cello, he started young and kept on playing. he was a young age when he played on concert. He wasn't afried because it was such a large audiance, he was nourvous because he wasn't sure if his cello wouldn't be loud enough.

I liked the pictures a lot. a bio should always have pictures and yo yo wouldn't of been born if it wasn't for his persisting grandma.

I liked it!

Dreams from my father review

I'm not a fan of President Oboma but I heard that this book had rave reviews about it so I got it from my library and read it.

Let me tell you; I have to admit the beginning of the book had me tranqalized, for the writing was soo good! the heart felt words; then it unraveled. its mainly about him talking about how he grew up with his grand parents and his visit to indonesia, his father and where he was when he heard his father had died and his campaining in chicogo. I was hoping to hear how he met his wife michelle.  oh well.

he was the vice president under  george h.w. bush.

I didn't know much about him so I interlibraryloaned it and I waited until I got it and read it.

Dan Quayle recounts of when he was chosen as a vice president and he recounts of being ripped apart by the media. He put family first and he told of his Faith. his wife Marilyn had cancer but it went away.

I liked it, it was a good read!

book review miracle in the andes

I found Miracle in the andes in the library when I was browsing the shelves, so after consideration, reading of the reviews and looking it over; I brought it home and spent a quiet Sunday night reading it. ( all of it)

Miracle in the Andes by Nando Parrado;  a true story

Nando and his freinds; a team of rugby and a few other passengers like his mom and his sister Susy where on a plane home, ( they lived in south America) and they crashed in the andes. the pilot, his mother and sister and a few other of his friends where killed. but he survived with a few other of his friends. Its cold, they run out of food and they heard on the radio the search for them has ended; given up. Nando with a cracked scull was determined to get help if it wasn't going to come. 

and thats where I will leave you, you have to read the rest!

I liked it.

I found some more books!


its about a japenese Americans first hand that were sent to camps in world war 2.
I always wonder if Japenese hate America for that reason.

the question was thought up because Sierra reviewed this book:

and she witnessed the japenese being sent away ( of what I read in the review)

and I looked around for some first hand books.

and I found a book!

Young J Edgar by Kenneth D. Ackerman;

at first glance on the library shelves I thought the book cover looked good. though I didn't know who he was or any thing....so I picked it up.

Edgar was the founder of the FBI. in the 1900's when communism tried to creep into America, Edgar and Palmer and the police force did all they could to get the Russians out of America. the book also follows what is was like growing up in his family. Its a book mainly about Edgar hoover and the raids they did on the Russians to defend America.

I liked it. now I know  who made the FBI.

at first glance I thought it looked good; so I interlibrary loaned it and I read it.

Condi Grew up in the age when Racism was rampent against ' colored people' as they said it. her mother was diognosed with cancer when Condi was 15. they prayed at least her mom  would be able to see Condi grow up.

Condi's dad was a pastor. the book genrally follows the faith of condi rice. her mom died when Condi was 30 years old.  

its a good bio! with pictures

the map maker's wife, by Robert Whitaker

At first glance, I thought it was a story about husband and wife going through the jungles of the amazon, like a thriller type. no; it isn't its actully quite boring at first, but interesting because it was in the time period when the new world was in fad at the time and when Spain was a world power. 

It follows the husband, Jean Godin as he goes to south America, then meets Isabel Godin and then he goes off to prepare a place, after a lot of years, Isabel hasn't heard from Jean, so she goes on to find him and almost dies from starvation.

I liked the book at the end, where it followed Isabel Godin.

as it looks like her story, but can't say its good or bad; because i haven't read it.

another book review

first glance at this book I thought it looked like an interesting book. I got it at the library, so I checked it out and read it.

Elaine Sciolino goes into Iran being a reporter and tells you what is was like before in Iran and is now, there the hidden side in Iran of people being rebels, not obeying the rules, some aren't happy with the revulution. 

I liked the book, it told me a lot of information on what happened after the revolution.
