inside the voyage of the dawn treader review

Inside the voyage of the dawn treader by Devin Brown,
nearing the movie release of the voyage of the dawn treader, I was fully interested in reading this book. so I got it free from bethanyhouse publishers to review. I have to say I got more then I expected.

Devin Brown goes through all the chapters of the book: the Voyage of the dawn treader and tries to find symbolic meanings to C.S lewis's life, for instance, why the wizard with Lucy only ate bread. " Was C.S lewis a bread eater and he didn't like meat?" was the question. he goes back into the other writings that C.S. lewis wrote and quotes them to what is relevant to the story.

over all, I thought it was a very sluggish read.

Under the lilacs by Lousia May alcott
Its about two little girls, Bab and Betty, Ben, a run away boy who has no father who used to work at a circus, Thorny, a boy who is in a wheel chair and his older sister Celia. Its a sweet story, its about growing up. its one of those books that leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling and you say '' awww'' after you read it.

Its not really adventures. its fiction and its a good classic!

one call away by Brenda Warner, a memoir.

I was drawn to this book by the attractive face on the cover. so I requested it.
Brenda grew up in a normal family. Her faith was important to her, she always wanted to pretty. She was a cheer leader, worried about her weight and because her father was a marine, she became a marine too because she wanted to serve her country, to her it was her dream. She met her future husband, a marine too, shortly after, she had a kid and the baby had brain damage, she had to quit her job being a marine and her husband was a little edgy as time grew  on. And then she divorced him when he was having an affair with another lady. She met Kurt Warner, a NFL player and it goes on from there what it was like to be a NFL wife and how she didn't like the populararity. throughout her life she dealt with many disappointments, tradigies but she didn't let go of her faith.

I somewhat liked it. the cover was the best thing about this book I thought.

raising a soul surfer review

I have read soul surfer by Bethany Hamilton. this time its; raising a soul surfer by her mother, Cheri Hamilton

Cheri grew up in a family that wasn't christian. but her family loved surfing. she remembers when her first time surfing just cought on and she wanted to surf. She tells how she met Tom, her future husband, of how she became a christian and of the shark attack that happened to Bethany, how it impacted her. and after the incedent. And she said how the movie Soul surfer impacted their life too in the making of it.

it was very good book. it had more details on the shark attack and the book was more mature then Soul surfer by Bethany Hamilton.

courageous review

Courageous by Randy alcorn,
Officer Adam Michelle, Nathan Heyes, Shane Fuller and David Thompsom work to keep the streets drug free, arresting criminals. but  when they take their badges off, they have another side, their families. Adam's son Dylan is slipping away from his control, Adam doesn't know what to do about it, while Nathan's daughter Jade is 14 and she wants to date boys, she's growing up to be a fine young lady. The officers have a history of broken families. Father hood is hard. When a tragedy strikes, It brings Adam to reality, to be a father and do do it right.

I really liked this book, Randy Alcorn did a good job at throwing in humor like real life intsenses. I really liked it!

Thunder dog review

Thunder dog, by Micheal Hingson,
Micheal Hingson was born blind, his parent didn't want to enroll him in a school for blind, they raised him like any other kid, he went bike riding and played with the other kids. He got his first guide dog when he was 14 years old. Then, he got Roselle, a guide dog he loved and he trusted. It was with that dog he would trust to guide him out of the tower that was about to fall on 9/11.

This book is a page turner and a inspiring read. I liked it
